Most folks I know in Chicago are scrambling to find time (before the weather turns) for some Great Lakes visits: camping, swimming, hiking, cabin-ing, dune-ing, etc. We have a quick visit to Michigan's coastline still on the horizon this month; what about you? In honor of the greats, we present an Ork...

Funny, but I always wish that Ork posters didn't include the name of the place.

By which you mean, here, "THE GREAT LAKES." I agree. Mistake.

Right, sorry. I mean, the images themselves are always made up of the smaller places names [e.g. neighborhoods or, in this case, lakes]. They're always well-known places, and it seems redundant to them name the whole place.

I do agree with the previous posters, but looking at all the Ork posters, it seems like they're designed in such a way that you could hack off the offending place name and still have a quite symmetrical poster.

Sure, you could trim them but, if you feel like you're paying money for something that has value, it seems odd to then be comfortable with hacking off a part of the art.
I don't like looking at art as an investment but, at the same time, it costs money and, presumably, will be worth as much or more in the future, if I ever feel like I want or need to get rid of it. Plus, even though my idea would "improve" the art in my eyes, it seems odd that I'd buy art and then "fix" it.

I absolutely love these posters. They have so much charm and I must have the Chicago one!

Slightly off-line, but did any of your teachers tell you that you can remember the names of the Great Lakes with the word HOMES? Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior.
(I've lived in 3 of the Great Lakes states and it always showed up on some test in elementary school.)

Michigan and Huron, technically speaking, are the same lake. Look it up.

Ooh, I've been hoping for a poster like this that has some Canadian influence in it! I live on Lake Huron, so this is perfect!
