The Try print by Monkeypowered of Montreal is a great way to introduce a jolt of color into your home along with a positive reminder. Each giclee print is on 100% cotton rag velvet fine art stock. Size is 8 1/2 x 11". $24 each.
Hmm... if it were bigger and in a fire engine red or a really deep turquoise, I'd buy it this instant.

Don't let Yoda find out about this.
Anyway, I've seen it once, and I'm over it. $24.00. !!!

I much prefer your previous post about making these things youself. I even went on a font binge at dafont after that one.

Looks kind of like "Fry." Maybe in my kitchen?

I like it. But, yes, it is a bit small. It's very pretty.

I'm sorry about what I said earlier. I've never really been into Star Wars and just got a little meta-nerdy, I guess. There is something in me where I can't pay for an inspirational poster. If there's a word like TRY and you need it on your wall, fucking make it yourself. That's my first impulse on seeing this stupid idea posted.
Posters like this are trite. You ostensibly know the word TRY and if that's something you need, I have every faith in you to craft something that works for you than to allot that portion of your income to people who stay home and print posters for a living. Then again, I need to think of whatever it is that makes people spend $24 plus shipping on a word, because I need to make some dough, you know what I'm talking about? Something easy to make, light to mail, and impresses people to open up their paypals. A lot of people seem to be receptive to someone else's idea of a print as if it's the only authentic way to experience the inspiration in their home, and even if it makes others sick of seeing it over and over, you're incapable of making something that says "Keep Calm and Carry On" yourself. The maker of that poster does not own the slogan, so feel free, if it helps, to go renegade and make something you want to look at. However, if it appeals to you to purchase something at some expense to boost your constitution, I am thoroughly interested in figuring out how to profit from your insecurities!

there is no "try:, there is only "do"
I used to hate it when my friend Cheryl would say that... Now that I am older, I understand what she meant though
Nonetheless, i think this is sweet, if an easy DIY

I don't know about you people, but I've never seen a font like this and my scribblies never look this good.
I rather suspect it's the printing that's so costly. Cotton paper ain't cheap, and neither is the ink for giclee.
I rather like the green but I'm not allowed to buy any more posters until I've framed the ones I have.

First off, thanks for posting this. Much appreciated.
I originally made this print for my Dad, and it received a really positive response when I later posted it on Etsy. Thank you Tiamat_the_Red. You're right of course, printing Giclee isn't exactly cheap, and it's not a font you can pluck out of a hat, because I illustrated it.
"I have every faith in you to craft something that works for you than to allot that portion of your income to people who stay home and print posters for a living." Wow, it's like you've known me forever. Holy crap, you put more energy into hating this print than I did into making it. Man, who hurt you?

What I've always liked about the "Keep Calm..." poster is that it's a replica of an actual wartime poster. Whether or not I could make one myself (which I absolutely could) is beside the point.

And it wasn't that expensive, either.

Wow K T G....bitter much? Yeah, there's a ton of stuff out there that one could 'go renegade' with....but that's not the point! The point it....someONE thought if it, someONE did something with it....and if I like the design I by all means want to support THAT person for their effort in adding something I consider beautiful to the world! And it's not as if monkeypowered just printed out a single word in times roman and called it a day. The gorgeous curves that emanate from the letters speak of striving and growth. I see tendrils and roots that for me embody the positive enegry that comes from 'trying.' Trite? Maybe, but I'll take that over grousing anyday!!!

Sorry for the rant, but I don't get the fuss over these "feel good" slogans. The font looks vaguely like Helvetica or Arial with some tendrilly stuff. I just don't feel the empowerment of the sentiment here or in the other similar types of art, which I feel is more about ripping off an easy idea and taking it to the bank. It's not unusual at all to feel that someone with another perspective is just an asshole too.
