Chicago has hit the 90s and summer is here. We’ve packed up our black sweaters, put the heavy quilts in storage, and it’s high time for some sun-drenched color!
Where to find it? Start with Peter Blake’s Beach Boys (1964) from the Tate St. Ives’ current exhibition, If Everybody Had an Ocean. The show was inspired by Brian Wilson: An Art Book, a paperback with bright, beachy images from artists around the world. In the words of the Beach Boys, We'll be havin' fun all summer long. I'm not much of a pool person, but "Day Pool" makes me want to dive in. The piece from the Ann Nathan Gallery is beautiful.
