9-21-07fallcurechicago.jpgWe're getting into the thick of it and judging by the comments from this week's posts, some of you are feeling overwhelmed. It's okay. We've taken on some big projects this week, like cleaning and decluttering the kitchen. If you're having a tough time getting everything done, don't worry. Stay focused, do what you can, and give yourself a pat on the back for all that you've done so far.

If it feels like too much, set priorities for the things you most want to accomplish during the Cure and make those your main focus. Don't sweat the small stuff. By the way, I'm so impressed with the work everyone in our Flickr group has done so far. You all rock!

This weekend, wrap up your work on the kitchen if you're doing the Deep Treatment and get your floorplan finished if you're doing the One Room Workout. Next week, we'll be moving on to the landing strip for those doing the Deep Treatment, and we'll be honing in on color combos for those doing the One-Room Workout.

To Do This Weekend (Deep Treatment):
• Fix one thing in your apartment yourself.
• Finish cleaning and decluttering the kitchen.
• Clear space for an Outbox and begin using it.
• Determine your style.
• If you haven't already, cook one meal at home.

To Do This Weekend (One-Room Workout):
• Decide on the activities you want in your room.
• Make a floor plan.
• Name your vision.
• Build a shopping list.

I have so much to do this weekend - this week was so crazy (I was out of town until last night) that I didn't get anything done for my kitchen at all. So - thank you for the encouragement. I need it!

Well, my fridge is done, the counters and cabinets are also clean and organized. This weekend I have to organize my walk in pantry. Next week I focus on color and some kitchen choices (backsplash, and if I replace counter and cabinets) my landing strip is not going to change, I think I got it right last cure, and I'm not messing with a good thing!

Wow, nice to see one of my photos here! This is the third iteration of my "landing pad" -- this area is so tiny and with the door and two sets of stairs, most hall or closet organizers don't fit. I still haven't found a boot tray that fits (I'm using the Martha Stewart idea of a rimmed cookie sheet; it works, but it's too lightweight).

Oh, and AT guys? I'm female, not male. No worries -- my Flickr name is misleading. But just in case you want to get your pronouns right, I thought I'd let you know.

I've got the big kitchen clean-up scheduled for tomorrow. It shouldn't take more than a few hours since I had purged before last fall's remodeling. Still, it will be nice to re-assess how I organized the cabinets. Some tweaking is in order.

But today's big job was a purge of the office. I'll post a few photos after dinner.

Moryse heron, so sorry! I fixed the mistake in the post. Lovely landing strip and home, by the way!

dmadura...love your Jay Ryan prints! I've got a few oldies but goodies in storage that really deserve framing. Maybe they'll adorn our walls by week 7 or 8 of the cure. However, we're burning through our budget pretty quickly over here with a few larger purchases (area rug, bookshelf, etc) so they may have to wait another few months.

seriouslydramatic...that is one pristine and lovely kitchen. Congrats on your progress!

Moryse...you know I love everything in your place, including the landing strip but I can't wait to see what changes you make over the next several weeks.

I pretty much finished what needed to be done in the kitchen today! I have a few minor things that didn't get done, but the majority of my Week Two "To-Do" list is DONE!

Also, Thursday evening, I made a start on rearranging the living room furniture. Friday evening I tried a few alternatives, and I now have a living room that I'm happy with! There are a couple of new pics on my Flickr, and more detail about the entire thought process, and pictures of the trial-and-error arrangements, at my blog, http://serenityathome.blogspot.com

Only problem is, I've been so busy with my own Cure, that I haven't had time to keep up with everyone else's! Tomorrow I'll make time to go around to people's Flickrs and see what's happening.
