We post a lot of interiors on Apartment Therapy, but getting outside is equally important. When it starts to warm up in Chicago, everyone on the street seems excited to finally be outdoors again. Yesterday we walked home from our (other) job downtown, and it felt great to spend some time crossing the city. Photos of our walk below...

One of the things we love about blogging is how it gives us the opportunity to get ideas from the mundane stuff of everyday life.

Carrying a camera with you helps you appreciate random details. We spotted this neoclassical frieze on the side of a sandwich shop.

For five years, we've loved the green glazed brick on this house just a block away from our apartment. It wasn't until we read this article from the New York Times that we realized how amazing and energy-efficient this home is on the inside.

This tree is beautiful, and blooms very briefly every spring. The owners of this house have a fantastic yard.

This corner store has been owned by three different members of the same extended family in the few years that we've lived in our neighborhood. We think the grammatical mistakes on their signage are totally charming.
Great photos! Makes me miss Chi, can't wait to come home!

As a Chicagoan, signs of spring around here are unbelievably uplifting...
So why a shot of the fake flowers? Its the real ones - like those beautiful pansies against that pretty green glazed brick wall - that bring such hope. Great shot there.
But yes, lovely pictures on a lovely day! Thanks for sharing!
