Excuse me while I giddily take photos of the new Apartment Therapy book, fresh from its Amazon packaging. But after working lots of long hours on the book project with Maxwell and Jill early in 2007, this moment has been a long time coming and I'm thrilled that the book is finally, officially, out in the world.
I might have even scared the UPS guy at my door just a little bit...
...as I excitedly told him about the contents of the package (not really - he's very nice).
I got my first glimpse of the book a few weeks ago, when the kind folks at Chronicle (the publisher) gave me a copy, but this is THE day I've been waiting for - knowing that the big, chunky (sort of old-school-history-textbook-sized) AT book is getting delivered to homes everywhere...very exciting!

I was due at the home of a painting client this evening, so I don't know if mine arrived yet, but last night I got so dang impatient waiting that I went to the Barnes & Nobles and bought one. It was nicely placed in their Lincoln Center store. I can't remember if I posted this fact elsewhere on here, but I KNOW that I've sent several people e-mails to this effect.
Janel, you guys did a beautiful job. You should be so very proud of yourselves. I'm still pinching myself, because I can't believe my apartment is in a coffee table book.

I really want to get it, but the cover sorta scares me. It looks too HGTV "let's paint EVERYTHING in jarring colors"... can someone tell me what kind of stuff's in it?

I haven't seen it Djluckeyonline, but from what I've read it's a collection of older House Tours, completely re-shot for the book.
It is a shame about the cover. I think the publishing house screwed that up.
