Total Steals: Auction Bargains at Wright Mass Modern

Once a year, the wonderful Wright Auction House holds "Mass Modern", their auction with no minimums (just held this past Saturday) . No minimums means that some lucky bidders walk away with really good deals. And, while plenty of the items go for much MORE than the estimates, it's lots of fun to see the ones which go for LESS...

I would have loved this post if it had appeared the week before the auction. :(

As a mid-c collector, reading those prices - what they actually sold for - is making me seriously ill.

Although, I have gotten deals myself - two free knoll saarinen side tables through work and two free florence knoll armless lounge chairs through dumpster diving (god, they were heavy!).

I'd be interested to know the condition of these items. I've previewed the Mass Modern auction in the past and the ghastly condition of the pieces, not the "steals," were what made me cry.

Yeah, its not surprising to me. These designs are now a dime a dozen, even if the are originals.

Not mid-c but just scored a Ligne Roset Pop char and ottoman at the Habitat Re-Store for $200! They still had a Yang sofa set for $2000 last time I looked.
