Inspiration Gallery

We’re always impressed by people who are able to make disparate styles feel right at home together. These bedrooms, pulled from the Apartment Therapy archives, balance traditional and modern elements to create a look that’s uniquely suited to each space.

Modern Rustic Cupboards & Cabinets

By now, the clean lines and natural materials of "modern rustic" style have become a familiar sight. The aesthetic mixes 21st century organic modernism with nostalgia for traditional American and European woodworking, and one area where this style is really catching on is kitchen design.

Another Approach to Casual Slipcovers: Les Indiennes

Earlier this month we wrote a post about how to make a dropcloth slipcover work. There were mixed reactions to the idea of draping a sofa in a basic canvas throw, so we're wondering how people feel about using a printed cloth cover, like this sofa styled in hand-blocked indigo fabric from Les Indiennes.

Weekend Tent by Cibic & Partners

This mod tent (titled "the Perfect Weekend" by Italian designer Aldo Cibic) is the grown-up version of a kid's fantasy play fort. Cibic makes it clear that, although his idea takes the form of a tent, it's not meant for camping.
