Kid-Friendly Designs by Materious

091306materious2.jpgWay back during our first week, we wrote about Stephanie Munson and Bruce Tharp (aka Materious, based here in Chicago) and their second Best in Show win from DWR's Modern + Design + Function: Chicago Furniture Now competition.

The two consecutive wins - for Cubby this year and 2005's Progeny - celebrate a design concept that keeps people connected in their households to their things and to each other.

091306cubbyx3.jpg In a recent article in the Chicago Reader, we learned that the Cubby, by popular demand, is now available at Orange Skin for $90.

Materious designs functional objects with kids in mind (but not exclusively for kids). A single Cubby would be equally as great for one person as it would be in a collection for an entire family.

We love the Cubby.
