Clever Bathroom Storage Solutions

Bathrooms are tricky. They're usually small and, although they require some storage space, they can look crammed if you go overboard. For a few storage ideas that won't overwhelm a small bath, click below...

1 This bathroom by Jay Jeffers combines uniform baskets and closed cabinets.
2 A peg rail behind the sink keeps bath supplies in order.
3 A clear shelf from the Container Store creates a ledge above the toilet.
4 A natural wood shelf above the tub adds character and storage space.
5 This bathroom from Alcro couples built-in cubbies with a ladder towel rack.

I have open shelving in my bathroom with relatively no closed/closeted storage. My brilliant idea was to also use baskets for all our toiletries, but we have so many products it still looks cluttered. I can't seem to keep it as clean and simple as those cute cubbies in the 5th pic.

How are baskets on the floor under the vanity "Clever"?

Looks more like poor planning to me...

I think that in the third picture we may be missing the REAL creative storage. You can see in the mirror that they're using some sort of cubby-system on the wall for bathroom odds and ends. I'd like to get a better look at that!

And sometimes when your landlord leaves you nothing, you have to improvise:

IKEA containers and the heaviest-duty 3M remoavble stick-on hooks I could find.

(Sorry about the huge pics.)

I love the basket ideas. I use Longaberger baskets. They are elegant and they come with fabric inserts and protectors to keep the inside from getting grubby. I shop for mine at http://www.longaberger.com/mandywillms
