Inspiration: Mod Bathrooms from FLY

2-4-09bathroom1.jpg

Fly is the French version of a smaller, more local IKEA. This chain has over 100 warehouse-style stores across the country, each of them stocked with affordable modern furnishings. Their bathroom gallery is especially bright, characterized by mod looks in primary colors - a great resource for anyone thinking about a colorful, budget bathroom makeover. Just re-imagine these rooms with a combination of IKEA staples, painted walls, and a few carefully chosen ultra-mod accessories...

I'm enjoying their offerings more than those of IKEA

Yes, the green bathroom is awesome! But I'm totally digging the orange/red/white/brown tile job too.

I love FLY! Sadly, they bailed out of Montreal a couple of years ago and I can't seem to find an alternative to Ikea.

That little cabinet under the sink is wonderful! Anyone know where I could get something like that anywhere else?

Fly Moebel is the worst! It always looks fun in the catalogs, but in person the quality is so cheap and it is way more overpriced than Ikea. I'm sure they produce a few gems here and there, but I almost never go there.

I love every one of these, and it makes me wish I had five bathrooms.

You could find FLY shops in France, Swiss and Spain.

See my own creations for FLY decoration. Wall vinyl stickers.

The concept is a bit like Ikea's, but as far as I know, Fly doesn't manufacture/design their products. Fly is more like a reseller.

They're good for inspiration, but for those who remarked that their stuff looks cheap? It is. I don't know anyone -- myself included -- who has had Fly furniture last any longer than a year and a half (I've lived in France for 10 years now). I prefer to pay Ikea's huge shipping rates and get decent-quality furniture rather than go to the nearby Fly store here.

ditto on everyone who said that the FLY quality is no good, its much worse than IKEA. Looks nice in the pictures, but not worth it.
