Batik Bed Sheets

2007-02-23-batik.jpgMargot Bianca runs an Etsy shop. She makes batik textiles by hand. The shop carries great kitchen and dining room staples like napkins, tablecloths, floursack linens, but the custom bed sheets that she makes really caught our eye - we love this idea.

How great to have a truly unique set of sheets, in colors of your choosing - we also really like the hippy vibe and the textural look and intense colors of batik. These sheets would look fabulous on a very clean-lined modern bed - it's good to mix things up a bit.

Margot Bianca makes the textiles using the original method of applying melted wax to fabric and having it act as a resist to the dye. She uses the boiling method to remove the wax, which as she states on the site, "ensures that each batik piece can easily withstand the hottest machine washing" - a good thing for bedding.

The full size sheet sets in two colors of your choice include a fitted sheet, flat sheet and 2 pillow cases and start at $200. - king size is an additional $50.

WOW!! What beautiful bed sheets. The colors and patterns are amazing! And the price seems very reasonable for hand made.
