Bella Quilt

2007-02-12-bella.png

Part homespun, part psychedelic...we wish we would come across a quilt like this in a thrift store. It just seems like something that we wouldn't want to just click and order - it feels like it should be a "find".

The quilt is cotton and comes in queen ($168.) and king ($188.). There are shams available as well, but we really don't care for those at all. Because this is a newly manufactured item and not something that someone's cool grandmother made, it kind of falls apart when you see multiple pieces from the line together.

If we were to dress a bed with the Bella quilt we would set it off against pure white sheets and pillowcases only...anything more seems like overkill.

What do you think of this look?

i have lusted after anthros quilts for ever. they are all so lusciously colorful. i do agree that it would be such a sweet find to come across something like this in a second hand store or your granny's blanket chest.

I have a few Anthropologie quilts in the linen closet. They are sooo comfy once you've broken them in --also, getting rid of the store smell is a plus. They're great for guests and great for wrapping yourself in when you're sick or just watching TV in a cold house.

I've had a couple for a few years now and, after high usage (I live with four 20-something males), they're all still in great shape.

i'm a big fan of their bedding. sure, their duvets and quilts are mass produced but the designs are always retired after 1 or 2 seasons and become collectables in their own way. i was lusting after a similar design to bella a few years ago but by the time i decided to buy it it wasn't available anymore! even on ebay!

I have one of those 'great vintage find crazy quilts' (bought for 5$ from a scarily pinned out eyes yard sale dude who was also sold me a Limoges pillbox for 50 cents) .. its mostly iridescent green silk from the 30's - anyways its a total DRAG! , Every time I fix it it falls apart more, I guess I should make it into pillows or something . Just saying the grass is always greener... and sometimes new is better than old!

also I have been thrift shopping for 20+ years and in all that time have seen about one nice bargain quilt....they are almost THE hardest thing to come by in thrift shops IMHOP... so dont feel like a jerk to if you buy new and save the hassle!

I just ordered this quilt yesterday and can't wait to receive it. I have a very bohemian/eclectic decor in my house and have many colorful designed quilts covering everything from the cushion of my black velvet sofa to laying across the ottoman and chaise which are also in the room. Not only do I consider them art, they are also great for those cold evenings watching TV. Love the colors on this one!
