Houndstooth Blanket

032808blanket.jpgHoundstooth is so fun in small doses. As a pattern trend that pops up on AT semi-regularly, we've been thinking about a houndstooth purchase but can't quite decide in what way it is best suited. An upholstered chair, a rug, or sofa? We'd probably get sick of it too quickly. But this merino wool throw is perfect. We only wish it came in various color combos for a little bit more of a surprising kick.

Available at Overstock, this Faribault classic houndstooth decorative throw runs $49.99.

As a University of Alabama football fan, the houndstooth trend makes me so very happy (the houndstooth hat was a wardrobe staple of our legendary coach, Paul "Bear" Bryant). It never goes out of style in Tuscaloosa!

I had a big scarf like this, and in the 45 min we had to get our office moved on 9/18/01 from across the NYSE, I left it in there. About 2 weeks later, two colleagues went in there again to get the final stuff we weren't able to get in the first go-round, and one got up on my swivel chair to get it and, of course, the chair moved and she fell and hurt her back. It was acrylic.

I'd go for the Marino Wool one--that is one fine wool.
