Ralph Lauren's American Living Home Collection at JC Penney

Ralph Lauren - when we think of his home goods, visions of English country homes (with the accompanying "correct" dog) jump to mind, but one of his collections for JC Penney is inspired by an entirely different kind of country home (with accompanying livestock). Titled American Living Modern Country, it is inspired by calico, checkerboard and bandanna prints...

The palette of cream, black and red is nice - and we like the black and white sheet sets (currently on sale for $69.99 - 89.99) that are part of the line. We could see both the floral and the ticking stripe working as great basics in a room with a colorful duvet or quilt.

But we aren't totally sold on the look as a whole...what do the AT design minds think? A nice graphical interpretation of Classic Americana OR a just-too-themey farm home aesthetic?

For those people who aren't talented at mixing and matching on their own, this is nice. I prefer doing it myself, and having a unique set that can be rearranged and kept fresh as I find new things to add.

I vote for "too themey farm home aesthetic."

Too much as a set, but I like the striped bits.

I think I will stick to originals from Ralph Lauren Home. Thanks though.

This signals the end of Ralph Lauren as we know it...Anyone else remember Halston at JC Penny's in 1982?
