"Single" Pillow by Walking Chair Studio

022608singlepillows.jpgWe just got an email from Gabriel: I was reading the post about the creepy "Hug Me pillow" on AT Chicago, and it brought to mind a very similar, yet much-less-creepy design by a really cool design firm based in Vienna called Walking Chair Studio... (Read more and take our survey below:)

Their version, called "single" is the whole torso with both arms (no hands) that is brightly colored and comes with a tank top on that says "single" in one of the many typefaces they have designed. There are a ton of other really clever designs on their site, so check them out!

- Gabriel

What we love most is that there are 23 positions depicted with this pillow on the Walking Chair Studio website. The model looks so, so happy. Do you agree with Gabriel that this is less creepy than the Hug Me pillow?

Where's the female version of these ridiculous pillows for the men?

The female version is called a blow up doll.

Seriously, if my friends came in my apartment and saw one of these, they'd schedule an intervention.

The photography is funny and maybe even charming; still, no.

Eck. Buying one of these seems like a good way to ensure you'll stay single...

Patrick, as usual you crack me up.

And yes, i think these are completely creepy and quite sad. What's so difficult about just hugging a regular pillow if you don't have a warm body there??

Less creepy, yes, but I don't know about the Much.

Teddy bear, ladies...

Yeah... I'm still thinking no on this one. Something that simulates a body...a little too "blow up doll-esque."

The woman in the photo's looks like she is having a little too much fun with that pillow.

This is so creepy. Imagine rolling over during the night and finding a cold body shaped torso in your bed, horse head in the bed status.

Still a partial body facsimile. Still creepy.

Sad, sad, sad. I just would hate to be in the mind of someone who would buy this.

Ew...

Why are women assumed to want to sleep cuddling something anyway?

If it's supposed to be practice for marriage, then the headless horseman needs to snore.

Good GRIEF! This is beyond a silly comment on your own single-ness. It's past cheesy. It's just really, really sad. Go get a friend and hug them, damnit.

Wende, I agree. I hate having anything touch me when I'm sleeping. I need my space!
