I like that you covered this is a post! Just last week after waiting two months, I had a custom bed delivered to me. Never once while sleeping on a mattress on the floor did I think about the issues of my art hung directly above the headboard. I quickly realized that I had no choice but to hang the art higher than I normally would just so I would not damage it when sitting up in bed. Sort of annoyed by it, I am still doing it.

I'm also a big fan of art above bedside tables. It's intimate and works well for smaller pieces. Plus you don't have to worry about it falling on your head or as serrakat says damaging the artwork itself.

Call me crazy - I prefer my artwork on the other side of the room where I can see it when I wake up in the morning.
