Madrid's Hospes Hotel is a great example of one way to add pattern to a minimalist room. With nothing more than some opulent pillows and blankets, an all-white room gets an injection of color and style. The hotel was renovated from a 19th-century town house, and does an elegant job of combining traditional details with modern design...

Pretty - I love Madrid and I would love to stay at this hotel. Mental note!

Lovely, but none of that is minimalism. There's "excess" ornamentation everywhere -- moldings, ornamental ceiling beams, etc.

Those ceiling beams are probably original and structural--not "ornamental" or decorative. I agree with Lisa on the other points though. I love that first room!

Looks nice, That said, I don't think I'd ever stay in a hotel called hospes (hospice). I'd be too worried about not checking out...

Cool stuff. Any ideas on where to get the throw and throw pillows?
