We've always felt that the bedroom is a place where it's really important to invest in quality over quantity. Our favorite bedrooms are serene and clutter-free, arranged to support a good night's sleep...
- If you're able to, center the bed against a wall. This is a basic way to bring symmetry and balance to a room, but there are exceptions to the rule. For instance, if a door or window prevents you from centering, place your bed in a spot where it's clear from obstructions. If necessary, you can remove or reverse a door.
- If you have the space, flank your bed with side tables and reading lights. You can mix and match for an eclectic feel, or coordinate for a symmetrical look. (For a twin bed, you may only need one side table and lamp.) If you don't have room for tables, try wall sconces above the bed.
- Good bedding can mean the difference between a restful or poor night's sleep. When shopping, understand thread count (click here for a great primer course) and keep an eye out for good deals.
- Keep clutter to a minimum by making sure you have adequate storage. For tips on organizing your closet or dresser, click here and here.
- Of course, the best way to find the bedroom arrangement that works for you is to try things out in your own space. For a diverse range of inspiration, check out our bedroom archives on Apartment Therapy.

Thanks,
*Thanks boxcamera,
The globe lamp was from CB2, It gives off the perfect "mood light" ;)
*MSJNT,
I think the bolster as wellcame from CB2. I recently went to Ikea and World Market ...and they had a few cool bolsters in stock.
If you're the "crafty" type .... you could get one of those large long body pillows that are microfiber cover already(target, or big box retailer) and fold it in half long ways, sew up the back, role it on a surface to move all the "stuffing"around... ta da ! A "bolster-ish" solution.
Thanks! :)
