Yesterday when we profiled small space solutions from DanHostel, several commenters asked about the maker of the bunk beds shown in the photos. After a little searching, we found the answer: it's the La Literal Bunk Bed by Spanish design firm Lievore, Altherr & Molina, and it's sold here in Chicago...

Available through Orange Skin in River North, the bed is made from a steel frame and veneered panels. It can be configured as a set of 2 bunk beds, one bed with a desk, or one bed with a shelf.

La Literal is also available from Resource Furniture in New York. Exact prices aren't listed, but a write-up in the NY Times clocked the bed at over $2,200.

If I had these beds, I'd paint chalkboard paint on the bottom...so when they're folded up kids can draw on them!
