After checking out Heather's Hot or Not: Swiffer post this morning, we thought we should offer up our Swiffer-alternative, a product we've used for ages and are very happy with.
It is a Bona floor mop that we originally purchased as part of a Bona cleaning system for our hardwood floors. The cleaning pad attaches super securely to the mop and after use we just throw it in the washer and dryer - its been going strong for years.
After using it for a while on our wood floors, we found that it worked so well that we began using it for cleaning all the various floor surfaces in our home which are pretty varied; we have hardwood in the living/dining, ceramic in the kitchen, tumbled marble in the bath and recycled hard flooring in the bedrooms.

"tumbled marble in the bath"?
Where can I see pictures of this? I'm jealous!

tumbled marble tiles:
we like them, but they may be sounding much more grand/glam than they are -they are simply matte, raw (tumbled instead of polished) marble tiles (ours are 12X12). we chose a very dark grey - they sort of look like slate.

So THAT is what those tiles are in my shower! Thank you!

I just bought the Method "swiffer" with reusable microfiber cloths, and I love it. Works really well.

I found some homemade machine washable/reusable "swiffer" sheets on Ebay. I don't remember the seller, but I do recommend them!
(I also love my Bona Floor Mop, I usually use it with Bona Floor Cleaner after I'm done swiffing).
