apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Best Products: Componibili by Anna Castelli Ferrieri

We've talked about the Componibili on AT before (here and here for starters), but our love for this piece has been recently reawakened. In our old home, it was a workhorse in our closet. Now that we're in a new place, we're thinking of keeping it in the bedroom as a bedside table, although we're also considering the bathroom and the living room. We'd be hard-pressed to find a spot in our home where we couldn't use it...

The piece is made by Kartell from plastic with sliding doors. It comes in either round or square shapes, and can be stacked on top of itself. Dealers include Highbrow Furniture, Unica Home, Hive Modern, and DWR among others. Prices start around $100 and increase depending on the number of modular elements.

I got a vintage one on casters for $25 on Craigslist. It's great as a bedside table. The only reason I wouldn't use it in a closet is because then its cool form would be hidden away.

If I find another one cheap, I'm going to put it in the bathroom. The woman I bought mine from said her daughter used it to store liquor in her apartment kitchen while she was in college.

I've been keeping an eye out for a used one forever. I might just break down and get a new one though.

I've had a chocolate brown one since high school, I think it's 30 years old now. It's always been used as a bedside cabinet.

I have 2 of the model pictured above as bedside tables - they're small, light, and great for hidden storage.

I have two of the one in the photo and I love love love them. One is a bedside table and the other I just got recently for by my front door. That one was bought to old mail and keys but primarily doggie bags/leashes/raincoats! I highly recommend and definitely could fine use for even one more of these if it wouldn't be stupid to have so many.

we just bought two of the low round versions, a bit wider than the one shown here, so we have more space items on top. absolutely love them.
