Best Products: IKEA's Hessum Runner

1-11-08rug1.jpg

A while ago, we purchased IKEA's Hessum Runner for our entrance hall, and we've been very happy with how it's held up. Shown here (unvacuumed) after several days of collecting slush, shoe grime, and dirt from dog paws, you can see that it hides wear and tear well...

The rug is made from woven polyproplene, but unlike other woven plastic rugs, it looks and feels more like jute. An anti-slip underside keeps it from sliding around. It can be shaken, vacuumed or hand-washed for cleaning.

Perhaps the best thing about the Hessum runner is its price: just $25. For more information from IKEA, click here.

I have repeatedly looked at this runner- it is exactly the dimensions I need, but I don't love the pattern. It would be great if they could just make a solid color!

I have concrete floors in my basement that I recently painted chocolate brown. This runner will be perfect in my hallway down there!

nothing beats Pappelina's range of plastic runners and rugs. Great colors and cool designs. I just bought one for my kitchen and bathroom. see here:

No relation to the article but I love at least what's visible of the chair in the first photo!

We have had this runner in our entryway for over a year and I highly recommend it. It has withstood saturation, the clawing of 3 cats, a dirty dog and many muddy boots and it looks like we just bought it. Amazing. I too wish it came in different colors and patterns.

I love ours too; very easy to clean. Unfortunately, our mastiff puppy also loved it. To chew on. They make great chew toys. Sigh. I wouldn't get one if you have a dog in the chewing stage.
