This set has been in my family for years. When I finally inherited the primary-colored nesting bowl set, it felt great and they have served me well. After a quick
eBay search, the bowls show up in abundance, available both as full sets or individual pieces if your own have become mismatched and separated through the years. Anyone else rely on these mixing bowls for anything and everything?
I have a pink one that's about the size of the green one in the photo. Used to have the big yellow one, but a cat destroyed it. I find that I use my pink pyrex more than the fancy mixing bowls from Williams Sonoma. There's something about it that's very satisfying.

I have a very similar set from Crate & Barrel - primary colors, nesting (though I think my set has 6 bowls). I love it - I never use anything else. They also make really cute serving bowls for parties and dinners.

I have the pink/white combo i took from my mom's house. It feels so good to mix a pound cake in it. I almost feel like June Clever.
So old they're almost new.

My mother has the set in the same color scheme shown above. I wouldnt be surprised if there was a fight over who gets those bowls after she passes away.

My Mom has that same set that she uses at the cottage. She found the set at a tag sale. My set is like that only all of the bowls are turquoise. It was also a tag sale score.
For years I remember my mom using a set that had a pilgrim theme in turquoise. I think some pieces went missing over the years. The set was a wedding gift to my parents in 1963.

My mother used those when I was growing up in the '60. Then, somewhere in the '80s, she discovered that antique stores were plugging them as antiques. She was first horrified, and then I guess she decided to go along with it because she put them down in the basement to save them. I'm about to drag them out again and use them because I love them.

Thanks for reminding me, I had temporarily forgotten how I covet my mom's fully matched, white and teal set. She'll never let them go.

I have the complete set and love it! I originally bought the set off ebay to give as a wedding gift. When the box arrived, the yellow bowl was smashed into a thousand pieces. I just kept the other ones for myself (giving a different gift to the couple) and eventually I stumbled across a replacement yellow one in perfect condition at an antique fair. I love all of the retro Pyrex stuff (especially the "friendship" pattern with red roosters).

I have my mom's set from the 40's. Probably a wedding gift. The red one was the perfect size for whipping up homemade cake frosting, which we kids always got to lick before it was washed. Of course one day we were fighting over it and it went flying off the table to smash on the floor. So I had to find a replacement. But it's like my mom's still here with me showing me how to cook when I use them. The primary colors are so . . . classic.

I recently gave our parents' set (minus the red bowl, which was long ago broken) to my sister. We would never get rid of them.
I've been havimg trouble with my hands, and I needed somthing lighter, so I bought the oxo good grips stainless bowls. I'm very happy with them.

I have a gorgeous set of 4 that I found for a steal ($50!) in a thrift shop in Amesbury, MA. They are pink, I think this vintage shade is called "flamingo." A warning to collectors: I put mine in the dishwasher several times and the glaze turned matte. Hand wash only.

My mom had that set when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s, and I have a set of my own too, that I got at a thrift shop. I use them every day. I love all the old Pyrex, the casserole dishes and refrigerator dishes, and they're easy to find at thrift shops and yard sales.

I started collecting Pyrex a few years ago and have been extremely lucky in finding them. I found the entire pink nesting bowl set of 4 for $8 in a thrift store, and the primary colour set for $15. I've found single bowls here and there at antique stores, garage sales, and even my boss's office (she caught me drooling and just handed it to me). They're so functional, and nice to look at!
If I had more room I'd be searching high and low for the turquoise set but for now I'm content with searching for Fire King mugs with the turquoise diamond pattern on them!

I grew upt with that set! The small turquoise bowl was used exclusively for tuna fish. My mom still has hers and gave her mother's to my sister. I chose to let go of the sibling rivalry thing and bought my own. You're so right! It does feel good to have them in my home. I won't reach Zen, however, until I get a full set of 1950's mustard yellow Le Creuset crockery.

I have that exact set.
It was my grandmother's, and was given to me when I moved out. I absolutely love them. They're the perfect size and shape and look as new as the day my grandmother got them. Not a chip or scratch! Nothing else compares to Pyrex.

Fell madly in love with these nesting bowls when I first saw them on PyrexLove's site - found myself a mint set on eBay, snapped them up and they've been a well used prized possession in my kitchen ever since.
Handwash for sure! Dishwashers do nasty things to the glaze and color.
