At Home With Karim Rashid
Nylon Magazine

Karim Rashid has been modernizing and putting color into the world for quite some time now, but what about in his own home? We featured his loft last year, but in a new video we spied even more of his great space. Secretly (or not) we're always curious to see where celebrities live especially one who's been as influential as Karim. After the jump watch the interview from Nylon TV and see the details of his space!

Once you watch the video, click on over to Karim's website and see identify some of the crazy objects floating around his home. It's like Where's Waldo, Design Edition!

We've been busy blogging about several of Karim's projects, check out some of our favorites below!

I'm sorry but i think his house is fugly, it reminds me of a teenage girl's bedroom or dorm room with all the pink and colourful plastic crap. It just looks tacky and unappealing to me but I guess some people are into this look.

I like Karim Rashid's high end furniture. I dislike his low end stuff, because it looks too much like dormitory furniture.

Karim's apartment is outrageous. Totally not my style, but it fits for him and makes me smile. I have two of his watches that he designed for Alessi; a red and black one. I get comments from people every time I wear them. I think Karim intends for that sort of thing to happen with his designs.

I find his designs kitch and cartoonish I wonder what his hotel designs will look like in 10 years. Well Barbie lives on maybe he will too.

It reminds me a little of Barbie furniture.

At least he is innovative and tries new things. Not my style....but I'm sure lots of people love it.

Karim Rashid's unapologetic love for himself paired with his cartoonish aesthetic makes me cringe. He truly believes this style is the future. And he is on record as saying that techno is the only relevant music today. This man has mistaken living in his own head as cleverness. This is apparent with the title of his book "I want to change the world." The world will never truly embrace plastic, shiny adolescent blobetecture post-modernist schlop.

Design is about solving problems for your client and/or the public. It appears as if this man only designs for the Power Puff Girls, Josie and the Pussycats and/or Yo Gabba Gabba.
