lemon and album, 2004 by Melanie Schiff

Revealing more good stuff from Chicago magazine's April issue:

After Paschke, p. 20-21: After polling local gallerists and art experts, Chicago compiled a list of whose art we should be collecting now (and who to look for at Artropolis this weekend and in galleries regularly). The list includes Geoffrey Todd Smith, Melanie Schiff, Deb Sokolow, Gisela Insuaste, Howard Fonda, Michelle Grabner, Miguel Cortez, and Scott Stack.

More from this issue:

Ready Made, p. 30: Paper art and greeting cards by local faves.
Designs by Binth (a Binth art print shown above), Bird Machine, Snow & Graham and more.

Style Sheet, p. 34: Fonts, types, scripts, numbers, letters...Six items that read en vogue. From a metallic leather Merriam-Webster's thesaurus to a wool felt number pillow by Soft Goods (available by order at Sprout Home), we found the selection surprising and fun.

Light Source, p. 107: Architect Geoffrey Goldberg and arts consultant Lynne Remington's Lincoln Park house tour...is "a contemporary setting for the accomplishments of three generations of modernists."

I'd also add Brian Ulrich to the list of who we should collect. I love his work!
