The Tribune Magazine's At Home issue featured interviews with "7 Chicagoans on the Fast Track" about their home life. The magazine only gave a peek at the homes, with one photo each - happily, they also posted a video tour of the home of restaurateur Donnie Madia. A partner in Avec and Blackbird, his residence is a 1400 square foot loft in a former peanut factory in West Town.
From the article:
When he planned the apartment's layout in 1999, his goal was to purify the design elements down to the minimum: "There are really only two rooms here. One room is a combination big dining room, living room and kitchen, and the other is my bedroom." A bathroom enclosed within an intriguing architectural cube divides the two spaces.
His favorite pieces? An 18 foot long, 8 foot high walnut bedroom wardrobe designed by Michael Koehler, a vintage Wegner papa bear chair (top photo) and the oil painting hanging over the sofa.

I don't think the article is online, but I still had the hard copy.
They were Jaslene Gonzalez (model), Kavi Gupta and Jessica Moss (kavi gupta gallery & smart museum of art), David Pisor (elysian hotels), Cindy Melk (H2O ) and Tony Mantuano (spiaggia).
