Blogging Domino: 03.07 - Green Flooring

2007-02-20-dominofloor.jpg

The eco-friendly floors roundup is one of our favorite sections of the March Domino. First of all, that table! - we really like it. And of course, the seamless-look cork flooring is very nice too. It's installed without glue, so it can be used over any existing surface. Made by expanko, it's $7.50/sq. ft.

We love the interiors shots in this piece - more to follow below the jump:

Modutiles, $180 for 12 tiles (12 sq. ft.) Made from reconstituted cork, renewable and recyclable.

Forbo "Click" linoleum, $5./sq. ft.
Made from linseed oil, wood flour and limestone dust.

Synergy Strand mini planks in Java, $6./sq. ft.
Bamboo is sustainable; it grows back after being cut.

We chose recycled hard flooring tiles for the bedrooms in our apartment this past summer and are really happy with the non-wood, non-carpet look. It feels very modern and upkeep has been super simple. It's nice to see more alternative floor choices get the centerstage.

I have that table and although it looks great, there is no room for your legs and feet under it !!

You have that table? I love it! (despite the lack of room for legs + feet) Domino didn't source it--where did you get it?

Have any of you installed cork plank floors in your home? We are considering it but I'd love some real-life opinons.
