apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Blogging NPR: UnderCover Series on Eight Forty-Eight

012507nprlogo.jpgWe don't talk about noise, sound, or music much on AT. But all three of those audial themes are relevant to how we live in our apartments (and how they either help or hinder our mission to create an organized, healthy, and beautiful space).

Last week we heard the new NPR "Eight Forty-Eight" series, UnderCover, a program in which local musicians perform covers of popular tunes. Perfect for those that work at home (9-10 am, Thursdays...that's today!) or during your wind-down when you return home from a long day (9-10 pm, Thursdays...songs played at the end of the hour). Anyone else hear the Occidental Brothers Dance Band International cover New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle" last week? The upcoming schedule:

January 25 — Don Stiernberg performs “Something in the Way She Moves” by James Taylor
February 1 — Detholz! performs “Electric Avenue” by Eddy Grant
February 8 — The Zincs performs “Silver” by Echo & the Bunnymen
February 15 — Las Guitarras de Espana performs “Killing Me Softly with His Song” by Roberta Flack; Remake by The Fugees
February 22 — Puerto Muerto performs “Be My Husband” by Nina Simone
March 1 — The Hoyle Brothers performs “Go Home Girl” by Arthur Alexander
March 8 — Bobby Conn: Song TBA
