I still have my last issue of Blueprint, unread, hoarded for the day when there are no good magazines left. I will probably do the same w/ my last issue of Domino.

I have always enjoyed this magazine, does anybodt have any recommendations for replacement?

I was lucky enough to purchase some Ines de La Fressange housewares in the mid 90's when I was in Paris. So incredibly chic and timeless, just like Ines herself.

I thought that perhaps I was only hearing a vicious, economy-panicked rumor when I first heard about Domino. But alas, I received my farewell email the other day and knew I had to face the music. What will we fawn over during Sunday coffee?Goodbye Domino - if I could write a fitting eulogy for your brilliance I most certainly would...

i still can't find this in nyc. checking every day! and i've been flipping through the back issues: there were quite a few features of men's apartments including that young man's featured in this issue.

I will miss Domino. I just checked – subscribing to Living ETC. (the next best thing) would cost more than buying them from the newsstand. Crazyness!

I winder if they will refund my subscription fee?

What happens to your subscription when a magazine folds? I just started ordering Domino last year after months of buying issues off the stands. This totally sucks.

I'm the lone wolf here, but I HATED this issue. Richard & Pippa Imrie's house especially annoyed me -- no insulation?; this from the folks who have shoved eco-friendly down our throats? -- along with Nina Campbell's -- a paean to wretched 70s excess (brass?!?!?).

For the curious- I called Domino and asked what will happen to my subscriptions...

We sad subscribers will have the option of getting a refund or choosing another magazine by the publisher. They have not yet decided which magazines they will give as options to transfer your subscription to. I was also told that they will email subscribers when the final decision is made.

I didn't even get the issue before this one, have had a subscription for the past 2 years, and recently renewed probably 3 months ago. I assumed it was because they were folding, but I guess not. I was always a bit upset, because I had to wait at least 2 weeks after the magazine was in stores to receive mine in the mail. Very frustrating when you are itching for the issue!

Oh man, at just-turned-30, I feel like my apartment needs at least 2 years work before I can enjoy what this cover story says we should celebrate in our 20s. I've only just grasped the "celebrate what you don't have" idea :) Great concept for an article, and beautiful pictures. I wish there weren't apostrophes in those ages, but no biggie. Goodbye and thank you, Domino...

Hmm, I haven't gotten my final issue yet. But ... did anyone else get the email from Conde Nast last week, the "special offer" for Domino subscribers to get another magazine for only $10.

Um, excuse me? I had JUST renewed my subscription to Domino with the Feb issue and you want me to pay another ten bucks for one of your OTHER magazines? Hell no! GIVE me a new subscription to something else (my choice) or give me the difference in my subscription back.

*grumble*

Well, the demise of Domino led me to finally seek out Living Etc, and although subscribing is cost prohibitive, the cover price in the US is worth every penny.

do they even show Ines de la Fressange's apartment in the issue? you didn't mention her. i did not care for the Dec/Jan cover feature showing an actress in a hotel room.

Lady J, they did show her apartment -- several of them, in fact. She's had a lot of residences. Past apartment, current apartment, Normandy country house and office at Roger Vivier.

For me, the entire issue summed up all the complaints from other disappointed readers on here: too much fashion, outrageously priced accessories, stories about people whose lifestyles the average reader can't relate to. I think most folks CAN relate to Will Frears & Amy Larocca, but the rest of the 'decade' stories (including 20s guy Michael Bargo) were out of touch.

Not a good way to go out, but it demonstrates why Domino is shuttering.

Sigh. ;-(

jenny - I did the same thing, with blueprint and o at home =P.

I thought the same thing about her age on the cover too, but then I put it together that they're doing the whole "great style at every age" tie in. Still, it's sort of like..."See, she's older AND stylish." A little strange.

I will cherish my dominos and blueprints always. And I guess I'll embrace elle decor now and hope I get a 300% raise so I can afford the stuff on its pages.
