We got a postcard notice in the mail last week that the remainder of our Blueprint (RIP) subscription will be honored with issues of Martha Stewart Living and (two!) issues of MSL already arrived on the weekend. Blueprint subscribers also have the option of canceling...we're curious - what would/did you do?

Personally, take the MSL and live with it... it's a few bucks and that's the risk we take supporting a new publication. It's a shame it went away... the girly-side of me kind of liked the publication.

I had already recently subscribed to MSL so they extended my subscription by how many BP i had left. I will miss my Blueprint though:(

I had already planned to cancel the subscription--and the two issues I received validated my initial plan. Living serves a completely different audience--that I'm not part of.

Hmmm, I had been wondering how the issue would be remedied with Blueprint subscribers (I didn't subscribe to it.) But, I think this is a nice option. If I had subscribed to BP, I would have been happy to take Living as a substitute (or to extend my Living subscription accordingly since I do subscribe to it.)

Ugh, I just went with the Martha Stewart subscription (I LOVED Blueprint). I'm a bit disappointed that they sent me Feb AND March's Living though, I had already read Feb...

we never got the card saying blueprint was done, living just showed up in our mailbox this weekend x 2. i have yet to open it.

we have a great magazine in canada called "wish" that is similar to blueprint... check it out, it just may fill the void left behind.

I cancelled. Though MSL has some stuff that's worth checking out, it's not for me.
I appreciated the offer to have the remainder of my subscription serviced somehow though.

I used to take MSL some time ago, but let the subscription run out due to the magazine's over-abundance of ads.

I'd cancel. Not that I hate Martha or anything, but the only issue that I'm the least interesting in is the annual decorating one, and if it looks good, I can buy it. The other issues only make me feel inadequate.

Huh. I've heard on various online outlets that MSLO is subbing Living for Blueprint; however, I have not received Living. Instead, they refunded my subscription. That may be due to the fact that I renewed my sub., oh about 2 weeks before they announced that Blueprint was done. But so far, I haven't heard of anyone else receiving a refund.... I'm happy getting my money back. I've subscribed to Living in the past, but like deneph, I'm clearly not the target audience for Living.

I haven't heard anything and am starting to feel taken. I'm in California, maybe they haven't gotten to the West Coast yet, but this all feels so shady and mishandled.
I first had to find out about Blueprint folding through AT, and this update. It feels like AT is their pR/customer service at this point.
No notification, no new subscriptions. nada and fully paid subscription.

They are sending me MSL now too - except that I received the Feb issue today. All of those Valentine's Day crafts and ideas that I don't have the time for are really handy on the 26th. I wasn't given a choice; they just started sending it. Annoying.

I live in California and I have gotten my postcard in the mail and I am not happy- I loved Blueprint. I already get MSL and I am hoping it will add on to another year's subscription instead of getting 2 at once.

I never got the postcard, but found out after reading that article about home/lifestyles mags suffering during the housing downturn. I was waiting to truly see if BP died since the article implied BP live on via the web, and not just as an archive.
Not only was I dumb enough to subscribe during Blueprint's 1st run, I also signed up for a 2 year sub this second time. BP honored my old sub by sending the new issues for free, but I guess my new sub has kicked in because I got the Feb. and Mar. MSLs today. I'm going to cancel and hope to get a full refund.
Ah well, at least I didn't subscribe to Victoria again :)

I got my two issues of MSL this weekend along with the offer to refund. I am going to go ahead and accept the substitution, but I too am a bit disgruntled that one of my replacement issues was for a month that is almost over.

I'm already a MSL subscriber so I took the extra issues. Too bad, receiving Blueprint always made me happy - there were a lot of fun ideas in there.

I took the Living subscription. I loved Blueprint and I'm sad its gone but I like Living too. Granted, it doesn't really fit my lifestyle (definitely skews OLD) but the photos are pretty and I use them to make envelopes/cards/collages with.

I think people who loved Blueprint but aren't sure about Living should really give Living a shot, especially if you haven't looked at it in a few years. It has a pretty fresh, young vibe now. It's not as quirky-cute as Blueprint, but Living really does have some awesome stuff in it.

I got my MSL's over the weekend as well, and after flipping through them, I'm going to cancel. Blargh. I know it's personal for everyone, but MSL is far too pretentious for me - I loved Blueprint's offbeat approach. Maybe it was the gardening issue that really put that last nail in the coffin, but I was just BORED with MSL. No thanks, Martha.

It's funny - I love my MSL, but found Blueprint a little thin. Too much in the way of buying guides (my problem with this site, too, frankly). I would never have considered Blueprint offbeat. I'm still hoping for a really exciting decorating magazine, but until one comes along, I'll just enjoy mad Martha and my old copies of Nest.

Have already had MSL and decided it was too grown up for me. But at the same time, Blueprint was too "buy buy buy" ... so I let it lapse.

I got the postcard but haven't seen a copy of Living yet. I'll just keep it-- Living has pretty good garden stuff

MSL is one of the most boring magazines I've ever seen. Wouldn't take it even for free.
