Cath Kidston's New Book: In Print

2006-04-12-coverkidston.jpg A mix of glossy and crafty, this new book from Cath Kidston is all about how to use vintage fabrics in your home.

Kidston started her career as an interior decorator in London in the early nineties and has grown her business to worldwide proportions. Central to her signature style are sweet cheerful prints on fabric, wallpaper, home and fashion goods. Trading on nostalgic feelings, the patterns create a pitch-perfect homey feel to the spaces they are used in.

2006-04-12-kidstontable.jpg This book is all about the textiles - the sections are grouped by fabric type and showcase vintage materials as well as Kidston's modern designs. Loads of photos show you how the colorful patterns work in modern rooms, and if you like what you see there are 60 projects included for the crafty (or not so - these are simple and straightforward). She includes tips on how to shop for vintage fabrics and basic sewing techniques as well.

A nice DIY read if you like some inspiration along with instruction.
