Mood Hue: Color Quizzes

The key to choosing the right color, according to some paint manufacturers, is more reliant on personality characteristics than paint chips. We spent all morning deep in self-analysis on the proverbial couch and now it's your turn.

Color Sense Game by Pittsburgh Paints: The most extensive quiz on our list, this survey inquires about everything from your favorite sound to your hair color. The quiz concludes with Pittsburgh showing you your main and secondary harmony families (such as the Pop Art palette seen above).

Interior Personality Quiz by Pratt & Lambert: This test sticks mostly to personality questions but there are a couple unusual queries that keep it interesting. The brief questionnaire concludes with "Your Personal Color Profile of Pratt & Lambert paints options.

ColorLife Quiz by General Paint: This quiz focuses less on personality and more on furnishings. The series of questions asks about your preference of couch, side table, mirror, etc. You'll finish knowing your "color style" but, for all the build-up, the end result is a little disappointing.

Color Quiz by True Value Paint: This quiz gets right to the point with only six questions. It's also the only test on this list that simply assigns you a color and also offers some personality assessment. According to True Value, our color is black and our "ability to focus is undisputed."

Beh, I'm black too. Switched my choice of season from "Spring" to "Fall" and I turned red. Wonder what I'll have to change to turn myself blue. This calls for serious investigation!

Me too, True Value gave me black. Feh, I'm not feeling it. The Pittsburgh Paints quiz really pegged me, though. Apparently, I'm the Tapestry collection of "world" colors (saturated neutrals and autumnal colors with some blues thrown in). Hmm, I guess someone tipped them off I'm a dual national...
