Online Moving Tools

20080812moving2.jpgMoving = stress. Here are some online tools to help you through it.

Just starting to look? Zillow gives you a fairly accurate estimate of what you should expect to pay to purchase in a specific area. The aerial mapped results make us feel rather cool and sneaky.

In Chicago? Find piece of mind (or maybe a reason to move) with the Chicago Police Department's CLEAR Map. Enter in an address and you'll get a detailed listing of recently reported crime within a half-mile radius of your address.

Moving to a new city? Try out the Cost of Living Calculator. It compares price points between your old city and the new, from everything to average cost of rent to a bag of frozen corn.

Ready to move? Figure out your supply situation with the Packing Calculator. And since you're busy enough, USPS lets allows you to bypass standing in line by changing your address online (for only a dollar).

Already moved in? Announce your new address with these customizable modernist moving cards by Fabulous Stationery.

The Chicago crime data web address makes me think of the mob. Hee! (Love the writing on the box, btw.)
