Are you apartment hunting? Have an iphone? You might want to check this out....we just heard about Padmapper from Rachel at Re-Nest. It is a free web-based tool that takes Craigslist apartment listings and puts them on Google maps. You can filter your search down to rent, # of bedrooms and baths, pets, images, etc...

According to the developer:
Instead of having a big list and then using a map as a helper for the list, like most of the real estate sites, I threw out the list and gave the map as much room as possible.
When you pan, PadMapper loads new listings automatically in the background. When you zoom out, PadMapper loads the surrounding areas, when you zoom in, PadMapper loads more listings for that smaller area. You can start your search at a high level, and then zoom in as you figure out what areas appeal to you more.
If you’re particularly interested in a place, you can zoom in very close, and nearby restaurants, bars, shopping and more will show up on the map (in most cities), and you can click on them to see their Yelp Ratings. Or, you can save that listing to your favorites list for later.
Get the iphone app right here. And, of course, it is also available on your computer as well - right here.
This is the. greatest. thing I have ever seen.
My upcoming apartment hunt just got SO SO MUCH easier. Wow.

This seems great, except if the address is incorrectly entered or not given.

About time! I always hated how Craigslist would turn up a ton of replies that were nowhere near the area you were looking for, but the poster would sneak in "Easy train ride to such-and-such area" just to get more hits on their listing. Of course it's an easy train ride, I'm in BOSTON. They'd call it an easy train ride if the nearest station was a mile away.

you should also try:
www.housingmaps.com
pretty much exactly the same thing, but maybe a slightly better interface.

so far this looks better than housingmaps. It has more options and filters. Another website i found that is very user friendly is urbanrenters.ca except it is more for Canadians.
