Lille is located on North Ave. at the border of Bucktown and Wicker Park.
It is a gallery-style shop, displaying its wares in singles rather than multiples, highlighting the items through a spare and simple aesthetic of store design.
An excellent resource for gifts, Lille is at its best for when you need a special occasion present (and for those about to receive: they do have a registry). Engagements, births, housewarmings, big birthdays and weddings could all be covered here.
We like the seaweed tray ($180.) pictured above (one of several - all beautiful) and the duck egg lacquered pencil box (also above,$55) is part of one of our favorite site sections, the decorative boxes.
Other good finds: plum blossom noodle bowls in lime ($62 -84.), gorgeous dinnerware from Bodo Sperlein's simplicity to Heath's hearty vintage ceramics and a Square Rosewood Lacquer Tray ($130.).

I stopped by Lille two weeks ago only to find the store closed and empty..... Anyone?

I LOVE everything at Lille. I've only shopped online so not sure about the actual store though. They carry John Derian plates and platters. SO gorgeous, I think I may start collecting them.
