"Swerve. Twist. Pivot. Coast." The latest evolution in Dirt Devil's Designer Series is the upright Kruz. The Kruz is obviously different because it's full length, as opposed to the preceding hand held Kone and Kurv. As is true with any survival of the fittest scenario, it has also gotten stronger. The Kruz weighs in at 12 volts, which must be noticeably more powerful than the Kone (7.2 v) and the Kurv (9.6 v).
Again, Karim Rashid is the brain behind the vacuum's shapely, slightly spacey design. But, as far as we can tell, the upright is only available in the slick silver shade.
Since we haven't yet tried out the Kruz (or the Kone or Kurv), we're curious for reviews, especially since the hand held models didn't exactly suck up the blue ribbon.
Has anyone tried out this suction machine?
The Kruz retains free-range cordless movement because it charges while sitting in its own storage base. It appears, however, that it is not meant for carpets or rugs at all and it's certainly not able to handle wet messes.

How do you spell phallic? phallic? phalic? fallic? falic? Ehh, you know what I mean.

Upstate, its phallic. And yes it is. The designers probably know that women do most of the housework still. And they wanted women to get (subliminally) excited about vacuuming.
Anyway when is AT going to do a top ten of small vacuum cleaners. I need a small vac to clean my hardwood floors and rugs and dont want to pay more than $120.

Ooh, I'd love to see the Top Ten of small vacs, as Trumystique suggests! It seems crazy (even if still tempting) to buy a Miele for less than 800 square feet...

We got a Kone last year for christmas and I've had no problems so far. It's mainly used for spot cleanups after the kids and to pick up that line of dust that you can never quite get in the dustpan or folded into the swiffer when you're cleaning. Pretty handy for pet hair tumbleweeds too.
