Close-up: Amy's Framed Flocked Wallpaper

Our friend Amy is a painter. Lately, though, she's taken to framing wallpaper rather than paintings. The b&w bamboo flocked wallpaper that she got from an estate sale last year found its place as a framed art piece, rather than a wall covering. She recently moved into a new place (image above is from last year's house tour), and framing wallpaper has become a habit.

We just saw a gorgeous, giant roll of stuff she plans to frame, and feel that this idea is perfect for anyone. It's also an inexpensive way to swap out art that you don't want to see anymore, while still getting use out of an old frame that could use new life.

There are many online resources for flocked paper, vintage or new, and we pulled the image, right, from flockedwallpaper.com.

Awesome idea! We had some flocked wallpaper in our powder room when I was little (1970's) and I thought it was pretty cool then. I've been looking for some fairly inexpensive "art" for some of my walls and this may be my next project. Thanks for posting the idea!

You must be reading my mind. We just had a supplier discontinue their line and we have many rolls. We plan on framing them in elegant frames and sell them as short run exclusive items. www.FlockedWallpaper.com
