Friends of mine did a mirror-tile backsplash in a tiny galley kitchen - made it look so much bigger!

It's good Feng Shui -- cooking with your back to people, or to a door is supposed to be very bad, as Feng Shui goes, so a mirror fixes it.

I like the mirrored backsplash in the third pic, because it makes the tiny space seem larger.

In the first pic, I'd like it better if the entire area was mirrored, rather than just a tiny spot above the range.

The kitchen is the second pic seems utterly impractical. It looks like a bedroom, with no room for actual cooking!

Love the idea, especially the last pic, and considering for my own kitchen.

I wonder about keeping it clean, though. Every water spot and spatter would show. Anybody tried it?

I'm sorry...I think having a mirror in the kitchen is a little perverse.

Im a mirror obsessor. I have lined my deep windows with Ikea mirrors to improve the lighting, and I plan on putting more mirrors around to make things look bigger. Just keep a bamboo washcloth on hand to wipe them down with.
I'm thinking on top of the fridge might be another place for mirrors!

I think over the counter space is better to place mirrors if you want them in the kitchen. For those who cook on a daily basis, it could get very annoying cleaning the kitchen every time. I know I get tired just cleaning the stove top after cooking twice a day.

I love the mirror backsplash in my small kitchen. You have to be either wilfully blind or regularly diligent about the smudges and splashes. I alternate between the two extremes to expected results. The clean up is really easy -- glass cleaner of choice (vinegar for me) and a cloth/old newsprint.
