Color Story: Beach House in Aqua, Saffron & Persimmon
Southern Living

The Southern Living Idea House for 2009 is a beach retreat - perfect for distracting all of us who are NOT on vacation on this mid-summer Monday afternoon. Aside from making us dream of lazy days, it inspired us with its use of bold color and pattern...

...as shown in the photos above. The home is located in Texas and the interior design is by Tracery Interiors, based in Alabama. True southern style!

Shown above, left to right:
1. A bright saffron sliding barn door connects the saffron, gray and white fabric in the bedroom and the gray walls in the bath.
2. Master Bedroom with persimmon and white wallpaper and bedding mixed with a light blue slipcovered bed.
3. Family room in aqua, persimmon, saffron and white.
4. The guest room has light aqua walls, which feels extra-powerful with the furnishings all done up in black and white.
5. The kids playroom continues the aqua used throughout, but adds in notes of pink and green.

Saffron has warmer undertones and is slightly more orange.

Most of the decorative accessories in the house were from Mermaid Hut:
