Even though it's been cold and rainy lately, summer really is inching closer. And with summer comes many much-anticipated Farmer's Markets.
Starting this Saturday, May 20, you'll be able to hit the first two markets of the year. Head north for Evanston's market (just off the purple line L if you are car-free), or stay centrally Chicago at the Lincoln Park market.
(Thanks, Gapers Block for the reminder!)

Actually, these aren't the first two markets of the year. I saw that the Green City market (near LaSalle and North) already opened at least as of this past Wednesday, 5/17, and the French Market at the corner of Broadway and Aldine started this year during the last weekend in April.
Oops. How did we miss that?? Thanks, Virginia!!
No problem -- GapersBlock got it wrong too! :) Technically, there's never really a "first" market in Chicago -- the one at the Culinary Institute is year-round.
