Gridley & Graves' Colorful Farmhouse
Country Living

Summer's approaching and all we want to do is dream of a beachside cottage or colorful farmhouse surrounded by trees. Including natural shapes, colors and textures, we want the indoors to reflect what's going on outdoors. Gridley and Graves spent 14 years on their farmhouse -- resulting in a joyous, vibrant color palette, and artistic, organic details throughout:

  1. Green Room
  2. Master Bedroom
  3. Dining Room
  4. Sitting Area
  5. Blue Room

Wow. I wish I knew them so they would invite me over! It's worth looking at the pix in the article--the kitchen is amazing.

Not loving the red in the dining room, but all of the other pictures are stunning. I'm enjoying Country Living right now, so much more satisfying than Domino was in my opinion.

That red dining room is so inviting and homey - for dinner or a game of cards.

It could be the shot, but I think the Blue Room is a little too intense.

Glad that you posted this, I'm moving into a 1902 Victorian (it's pretty simple, not crazy moldings, unfortunately) and I really want to do the downstairs in a brighter palette. The kitchen floor is black-and-white tiled and the landlord has the walls a bright yellow. I'd like to make the front living room, middle dining room and very back bathroom cohesive with the rest of the house. I've been looking at paint swatches and thought maybe I was picking colors that are too bright and it'd end up looking like someone went crazy with the crayola. Argh! I finally get the freedom to (almost) do whatever and it's making me insane!

I absolutely love this house. If they ever decide to move, I am hoping on this one.
