Saia Barbarese Topouzanov Architects designed Maison Goulet as a welcoming shelter isolated in a harsh landscape. The wood-clad interiors are open, lofty spaces that also manage to express coziness and warmth.
We love the woodgrain pattern covering modern, angular surfaces devoid of other trim or decoration. How about you, do you think it works?
it's a bit much. i think it needs more inside, and then i would like it. not sure.

It's interesting to look at.
Architecture is the art here, which gives the feeling of being inside the canvas, so to speak.

Love it! This is a fantastic and inovative use of wood...I'm ready to pack my U-haul.

This house is amazing! Love it! Wood is the one hard surface, for me, that is beautiful, warm, and glowing. So gorgeous. I want to move in now!

There's so little in the rooms that it's hard to get a sense of scale. Are those enormous chairs, or a teeny stove?

i love the architecture, dislike the furnishings. Perhaps it would work as a vacation home furnished so sparsely, but I'd like to see it a bit more realistically furnished!

I must say I have never seen plywood (good quality) used in such a nice way. It must of been sanded a lot and finished with at least 3 layers of something good.
Love that first photo from the woods---I would want to light the woods up a lot to see the trees and snow from the house.
