MCM houses are inherently kid-friendly. Most were designed with families in mind (though they don't have the number of bathrooms we usually expect in a new house.)

I can second that for sure. Our 1950 cottage housed a family of 5 and their dog before we bought it from the mother's estate 2 years ago. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. She raised 3 boys there. How on earth??? :)
