“I think the important thing is to keep it simple. I prefer kids' rooms (and adult rooms for that matter) to be free from distracting clutter. With that being said, teens like, and perhaps need, to display memorabilia. The shelves, a white board, and a small bulletin board keep her photos and special items corralled to a few areas around the room.I like Maddie's room because it is pretty and peaceful, which is a nice place to return to after the trials of junior high."

This is a very sweet room - light and airy. The window seat looks like a great place to curl up with a book, but it might need more pillows to be comfortable.
I have a little trouble believing that the room always looks like this, though. (Unless the occupant is an incredibly organized future designer/professional organizer) The details that look like a real teen lives here are the Twilight books and poster. I would have loved this room at that age, but I would have instantly cluttered it with school art projects, funny pictures of friends, sports trophies, and lots of books. At that age, I was really envious of my friend who was allowed to paint and draw on her walls. I thought that was really cool.
