050409-babyshower2.jpgWe attended a baby shower this weekend that left us, well to be honest, left us a little frustrated. Showers are usually wonderful things; they're full of presents and babies, laughter and typically embarrassing (yet adorable) stories of the things we did as children. It went wrong because this party was reduced to a 4 hour gift critique...the idea that each present was passed around one by one for guest inspection is terrible.

At a sip 'n see, the gifts are lined up on a table, leaving the host and guest of honor to HOST the party, and converse with the guests.

It went wrong when men are being invited to baby showers purely to get more gifts! It went wrong when there is no room set up for men bored out of their mind. It went wrong when it was wrong NOT to go to baby showers! Please WOMEN OF THE WORLD . . . STOP inviting men who do not wish to go to baby showers! I BEG YOU!

Pxlchk1 - Brilliant. I'm tempted to do the same theme for my first Mother's Day this year.
