When you blow something up, can it be considered deconstructed? While perusing the Chicago Architecture Foundation online shop, we spied a basket and magazine rack from Alessi's Blow Up line.
Designed by the Campagna brothers, Fernando and Humbert, the Blow Up line features items made from solid steel wire in various lengths. The basket and magazine rack have a quirky look that will go well in just about any room. Add a little "kaboom" to your place.

note of caution: it will scratch the surface unless you place some felt pads on it. Since it's made of rods, I sliced some pads for a perfect fit. My table still has the scars to prove it.

I got my mom the bowl last year (at Chiasso... I believe it's the same one) as part of her Mother's Day gift. Like Joel said, the felt feet are critical.
