Going black and white in the dining room tends to bring out the cool, mod, b&w-all-over vibe. What we love to see is black and white done against warm, rich woods and fabrics, a combination that plays to balance and succeeds with a definitive statement. Above, the Bizzozzero table from Momentoitalia, shown with brown leather top and brown steel legs, atop a fantastic b&w rug. Nice mountains, too. More from Momentoitalia below:

I don't know that I've seen a more amazing vista from within a house than the dining room in the first photo...
...I'd kill for that room.

Agreed. The table and chairs and rugs are nice 'n all but what is really spectacular is that view.

the view is definitely one of the 'great' Italian lakes, lake Como or lake Maggiore, probably Como.

The "rug" in the top photo is an embroidery - now THAT is a idea I'm sure real people won't adopt!

Yeah, with that view, two upside-down 5 gallon buckets doing duty as seating and a cardboard box acting as a table and it would still look fabulous.

Wow...Who cares about the decor with that kind of view!? Who would even notice? I think the rug is really lovely, but really why bother? ;0) LilyC is right.
