Maybe it's the gorgeous glow of a chandelier or the sense of occasion that a beautifully set table brings to a dinner party. Whatever the draw, we love looking at high-drama dining rooms for inspiration. Even if your style leans towards a simpler, more modern look, there are lessons to be learned from these theatrical spaces...
Nothing sets the mood for a good meal like lighting. If you've got a chandelier or a bold pendant lamp, play it up. If not, use candles and strategically placed mirrors to bring some romance to your space. Centerpieces are another way to decorate the table in style. Flowers and candles are always good bets, and don't forget artwork! Sculptural pieces that cast shadows are sure to add some drama.

I love the dark table next to the white chairs.

My place is too small for a dining room, so my chandelier is in my kitchen! http://www.petunkalunka.com/2009/08/decorating-therapy.html

That last one is, of course, a kitchen. But it's my favorite because it has a coziness the others lack. Chandelier in the kitchen? Why not???

#2 is my pick of this group, but honestly - can we be done with the wall-mounted skulls trend sometime soon? =)
