Embracing non-traditional color schemes during the holidays is no new thing, but still might seem like a daring choice when you show up for cocktails and are greeted by a pink tree. We browsed around to find a few fun items in colors that really make a statement. If you get into holiday decor, what's your favorite color combo? According to yesterday's LA survey, most of you (at least on the west coast) enjoy a mixture of everything...

my wife and i picked out stockings that were light blue and tan from target with the white fur trim and white snowflakes on them. As well as the light blue tree skirt to match.
They were pretty much the only stockings at target that looked nice, didn't feel like they were made out of crappy paper, and for us, didn't cost a fortune. We're just starting out and can't really spend $40 on one single stocking.

Is there a reason why the tinsel tree needs to be potted?

it's so refreshing and modern to see trees and decorations that aren't the traditional red and green. i love it. hot pink with grass green and electric blue are pretty badass color choices for the holidays, if you can pull it off. in my little apartment i've got a tiny silver tree with bright multicolored glass ball ornaments. it's adorable, i think. :)

It was Target's stocking a ton of those colors last year that crazed me into doing a tree at all. I'd been looking for that color scheme since it was hot in Amsterdam for Xmas '98 and I was too chicken to try to ship glass ornaments.
We mix ours with red and gold balls because otherwise the tree would clash violently with the rest of the apartment, and it still may anyway, but I don't care.
